Multifunction Cardiogram (MCG)

Premier Heart’s Multifunction Cardiogram (MCG) is the only non-invasive online diagnostic testing tool designed to assist physicians in quickly and accurately detecting heart diseases, including CAD ischemia. MCG is able to detect coronary ischemia within 90% of the accuracy of an angiogram, using a method that is rapid, non-invasive, and does not expose the patient to radiation or physical stress. When compared to traditional methods, MCG has consistently been able to more accurately detect ischemia at earlier stages, enabling physicians to intervene and save lives.
MCG, the Multifunction Cardiogram, is a revolutionary approach to diagnosing cardiac conditions. It goes beyond a traditional ECG by incorporating aspects of computational biology and systems theory to build a functional mathematical model of the cardiac system – the heart, blood and circulatory system – from which a more accurate diagnosis can be drawn.
How it Works
Premier Heart’s system consists of three stages:
- First, a Multifunction Cardiogram (MCG) Client is used to digitally record resting ECG data from the patient. The ECG data is then transmitted to Premier Heart’s datacenter via an encrypted internet connection.
- Once received at Premier Heart’s datacenter, the MCG diagnostic system takes over, running a series of mathematical transformations on the raw ECG data to identify distinct functional indicators. A numeric MCG Score is assigned to represent the severity of cardiac disease burden observed during the test. In addition to the MCG Score, the system also provides a set of differential diagnoses for specific conditions contributing to the result, giving the doctor guidelines for additional evaluation and treatment.
- The MCG Score and identified conditions are compiled into an easy-to-read report which the doctor can review on the MCG unit, or any computer with a web browser. These reports can provide guidance when referring a patient to a cardiologist for follow-up testing.
