What is Restylane?
The Restylane family of products is a brand of hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers designed for natural-looking results. Each Restylane product is designed for a specific purpose. At OC Wellness, we use Restylane Silk. Restylane Silk provides subtle lip plumping for thinning lips, as well as smoothing of lip wrinkles and lines around the mouth. Restylane Silk is specifically designed to soften and smooth, while delivering subtle and natural-looking results.
How long does Restylane Silk treatment last?
Results from treatment with Restylane Silk have been shown to last up to 6 months for lips and perioral rhytids (wrinkles around the mouth).
What are the potential side effects of Restylane products?
After your treatment, you may experience common side effects, which can include:
- Swelling
- Redness
- Mild discomfort
- Bruising
- Headache
- Tenderness
Who should not use Restylane products?
Restylane products should not be used by people who:
- Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or under 22 years of age
- Have had previous allergic reactions to proteins used to make hyaluronic acid
- Have a known allergy to lidocaine (Restylane Silk contains lidocaine)
