What is Andropause?
As we age, our hormone levels begin to change. As women age, they experience the end of ovulation and rapid hormone decline during a short period of time, known as Menopause. Unlike women, as men age, their production of testosterone and other hormones is a slower progression. Male hormones decline gradually, over many years, this is called Andropause. According to the National Health Service, the testosterone decline in men is at about 1% a year from around the age of 30 to 40. This gradual decline of testosterone levels is called late-onset hypogonadism or age-related low testosterone. In order to measure testosterone levels a blood test is needed, and the results will be reviewed by a doctor along with your medical history.
