What is Juvéderm® and how does it work?
Juvéderm® is an FDA approved cosmetic injectable filler that’s used to improve the appearance of aging skin by reducing fine lines, wrinkles and restoring volume. It’s made from hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that occurs in the body and helps keep skin moisturized. Juvéderm fillers contain lidocaine gel to improve comfort of the injection by reducing sensitivity to pain. Each product in the Juvéderm® collection of fillers adds volume to a different area of the face—without surgery.
Juvéderm® Voluma® XC
Juvéderm® Voluma® XC is an FDA approved hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler for injection for deep injection in the cheek area to correct age-related volume loss and for augmentation of the chin region to improve the chin profile.
Cheeks: Juvéderm® Voluma® XC adds volume beneath the skin’s surface, temporarily adding volume to the cheek area which provides lift and contour to the cheek area resulting in a smoother contour and more youthful appearance to the face.
Chin: Juvéderm® Voluma® XC is an injectable gel that is injected into the chin area to increase chin projection. It temporarily adds volume to the chin area and results in an improved chin shape and definition.
How long does Juvéderm® Voluma® XC last?
Results with Juvéderm® fillers are not permanent, therefore touch-up injections as well as repeat injections are usually needed to maintain optimal correction.
Juvéderm® Voluma® XC into the cheek area provides natural-looking and long-lasting results that last up to 2 years with optimal treatment.
Juvéderm® Voluma® XC provides results that can last up to 1 year in the chin with optimal treatment.
What are the potential side effects?
Side effects are mild in nature, and generally resolved in 2-4 weeks. The most common side effects included temporary reactions at the treatment site such as tenderness, swelling, firmness, lumps/bumps, bruising, pain, and redness
Who should not use Juvéderm products?
Do not use these products if you have a history of allergic reactions to lidocaine or if you have had previous allergic reactions to hyaluronic acid fillers.
